Once in safe mode go to c:\windows\system32\ and search for wgatray.exe and delete it.
click the start menu and select 'run'.
type regedit.exe in the 'run' box
Delete the 'WGALOGON' file in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\microsoft\windows NT\current version\winlogonNotify.
search for 'wgatray.exe' [without the quotation marks] and delete any references to that program in the computer registry.

Recovery console: The xp recovery console can be a very useful utility when employed with care. There are a variety of situations where having access to it can be really handy. In fact, you need to get access to it before we go any further.

1.Insert xp cd and Reboot or restart your computer.Once you arrive at the welcome screen, choose 'R' for recovery.

2. You will be asked which windows installation you wish to access. Choose the appropriate number.

3.Now a prompt for your administrator password will appear. Enter it and continue (if no password, press enter).

Now we are ready to roll up ourselves and get to work. While at the console, you can type help for a list of available comands that are at your disposal. For example, you can repair a messed up boot sector by typing FIXBOOT and then typing ENTER afterward. If you are having difficulty booting up because of a messed up NTLDR file,however, then you might need to replace it by typing: COPY E:\i386\NTLDR C: [if you cd/dvd drive is G put G instead of E].

After completion of copy process type EXIT to leave and restart windows.

Adds Autorun.inf in the pen drive(USB)

Solution :

1. Boot computer in safe mode. [restart your system and press f8 key to go to safe mode]

2. Open task manager and kill the processes with names DRIVEGAURD.EXE/FLASHGAURD.EXE/DRIVEMONITOR.EXE

3. Open My Computer and search for the same virus names but don.t forget to check all the boxes int he 'More advanced options' of search. Delete all the files

4. Now search for tmp.exe and delete drivegaurd.tmp.exe and gHmpg.exe files, if any.

5.open the msconfig, now go to startup processes and uncheck the flashgaurd process to remove it from the startup list.

6. Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\FlashGaurd.

7.click on Flash gaurd and delete the key.

drivegaurd.exe and flashgaurd.exe will be removed

This tip is designed to increase Broadband speed in windows xp while using standard network interface cards (NIC) that are connected to ADSL modems, or when using any directly-connected USB ADSL modem. To speed up the internet connection speed we need to configure a special buffer in the computer's memory in order to enable it to better deal with interrupts made from the NIC or the USB modem.

This tip is only recomended if you have 256mb ram or higher.

Identify the IRQ used by the NIC/USB modem.

Follow these steps carefully:

open the system information tool by running MSINFO32.EXE from the run command.
Expand system summaru > Hardware Resources > IRQs
Look for the listing made for your NIC (in my case - a intel(R) PRO/100+ management adapter). Note the IRQ next to the specified line (in my case - IRQ21)

In case of USB modems you will first need to find the right USB device used by your modem. Follow these steps :

open the device manager tool by running DEVMGMT.MSC from the run command (or by right-clicking my computer > hardware tab > Device manager button)
scroll down to universal serial bus controllers and expand it.
Right-click the USB root Hub and select properties. Note that you might need to do so for all listed USB root Hubs (if there are more than one ) in order to find the right one.
In the power tab, look for your USB ADSL modem.
In the resources tab look for the assigned IRQ (in this case - IRQ21)
This is the IRQ we're looking for

NOTE- IRQs and modem names might vary...

Modify the sysem.ini file

Follow these steps:

Run SYSEDIT.EXE from the run command
Expand the system.ini file window.
scroll down almost to the end of the file till you find a line called [386 enh].
Press enter to make one blank line, and in that line type

irqX=4096
where x is the designated IRQ number we found in the begining, in my case it's IRQ21

5.click on the file meny,then choose save.
6.close sysedit and reboot your computer

PROCEDURE (COPYING XP TO USB AND CONFIGURING)(INSERT PED DRIVE TO DO THIS PROCESS)
1. extract usb_prep8 zip and bootsect zip
2.After extracting usb_prep folder open or double click on usb_prep8.cmd.a command promp will open
3.press any key to continue.A peTousb window will open
4.don't change anything in peTousb window wil open.just click on "start" button.Formatting of your USB will start
5.Do not close that two windows (petousb and usb_prep8).now open a new command prompt by typing cmd in run box[start>run].in this new command prompt go to the directory where bootsect.exe is saved.Now type " bootsect.exe/nt52 R" change "R" with the letter drive directory of your usb drive.
NOTE:when running the boot.exe command u cannot have any windows open displaying the content of your usb drive.if it is done successfully u will see "bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes." .now close this command prompt (do not close usb_prep8).
6.now close peTousb window.you must see the usb_prep8 command like this

7.now u need to enter the correct info for numbers 1-3
press 1 and then enter.A folder browse window will open to browse to the location of your xp setup files(insert xp cd in cd rom)
press 2 and enter a letter NOT currently assigned to a drive on your pc, say T
press 3 and enter the drive letter of your usb stick
press 4 to start the process
8.The script will ask you if its ok to format drive T. this is just a temp drive the program creates to catche windows installation files.press Y then enter
9. once its done formatting,press enter to continue again,u will now see the program copying windows xp files from your CD to the temp drive it created.it takes 3-5 min.press enter to continue after copying files
10. Next u will see a box pop up asking u to copy the files from temp drive to USB drive.
press yes
11.once the program has completed copy files a popup window asking if u would like to USB DRIVE to be preferred boot drive U: select YES on this window
12.u are done with this part.select YES to unmount the virtual drive

PROCEDURE 2 (INSTALLING XP INTO YOUR PC WITHOUT CD-ROM USING USB )
1.insert your usb and start your pc,then goto the BIOS set-up.set usb as your primary boot device or first boot device
2.on the start up menu u have 2 options, select option number for text mode setup.
3.from this point on,it is just like any other windows xp installation.when prompt delete all the partion,including the one with labeled "BIOS" for EEE-PC.RECREATE the primary partition on your EEE pc and format it using NTFS.
4.Once the text mode partition of setup is complete,the computer will reboot.this time, boot into the GUI mode
5. once the GUI setup is complete u have to boot into GUI mode to complete the xp installation
untill end up at your XP desktop.it is very important that u DO NOT REMOVE THE USB DRIVE before this point.once u can see your start menu it is safe to remove the USB drive and reboot your pc to make sure everything worked.

1) Right click on desktop, and then go New, then Shortcut.

TOday ill tell u how to delete undetecteble file on XP. They are not deleted simply and a message appears that "access denied" There is a simple way to delete those files. Read this carefully.

Click on Start, Search, All Files and Folders.

Right-click on file and choose properties

file location example: c:\windows\system32\undeleteablefile.exe

Open a Command Prompt window

Again Click on Start button, Run and type TASKMGR.EXE and press Enter to start Task manager
Click on the Processes tab, click on the process named Explorer.exe and click on End Process.

Minimize Task Manager.

Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory where the file is located. To do this, use the CD command.

cd \windows\system32

Type DEL where is the file you wish to delete.

Example: del undeletablefile.exe

Go back to Task Manager

In Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the Windows shell.

Close Task Manager and the file is deleted.
